SkillsLatvia 2025 finals, organized by VIAA, occurred May 7-10 at Ķīpsala Exhibition Center in Riga, uniting roughly 120 VET students in 20 categories. The web technologies track engaged 14 competitors in creating full-stack applications with emphasis on security and scalability, building on semi-final qualifiers from early 2025.
Leveraging NStrim, organizers deployed isolated Docker environments with built-in database and version tools, facilitating seamless multi-phase challenges without DevOps overhead.
Flexible Snapshots for Iterative Development
Participants navigated tasks like responsive UI design and backend logic via NStrim's snapshot system, which supported quick iterations and error recovery. Secure dashboards kept focus on objectives with integrated timers and briefs.
Laima Jansone from Daugavpils University claimed gold for her adaptive learning platform, silver for Roberts Kalniņš from Riga State Technical School, and bronze for Anna Liepa from Ventspils Polytechnic. Jansone commented, "NStrim made the environment feel professional and reliable."
